Apple: On-Device AI
Posted December 14, 2023
Macro Watch is rolling out a series of videos on The Magnificent Seven, the tech giants at the forefront of the Artificial Intelligence Revolution.
They are Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia and Tesla.
The new Macro Watch video on Apple, uploaded today, is the fifth in this series.
This video explains that Apple’s billions of loyal customers, App Ecosystem, Custom Silicon, huge R&D budget, and track record of design brilliance make it very likely that Apple will be the global leader in the field of On-Device AI.
On-device AI refers to the process of running AI and machine learning models directly on a device, instead of relying on cloud computing.
Apple has already built its own Large Language Models. These were trained using the massive treasure trove of data that Apple has accumulated as the result of its customers using its devices, apps, and services.
It is only a matter of time before Apple devices come with built-in generative AI models that are as powerful as ChatGPT – even when they’re not connected to the internet.
Devices with built-in generative AI models are going to be The Next Big Thing in the world of mobile technology. They are likely to radically alter the way we acquire information and communicate with the world around us.
Given Apple’s track record of creating products of the highest quality and with the greatest user satisfaction, the devices it launches with built-in generative AI are likely to be the best and most desirable on the market, just as the iPhone has been since it was launched.
That will make Apple an AI superpower.
